Ann and John wanted a pretty garden with lots of flowers, and several seating areas that they could use at different times of the day. There was only 4 inches of soil over compact ground, so I added manure and mushroom compost, then fluffed it all up. It turned out pretty good. Thanks for looking after me with all the tea and cakes! I renovated and maintained the grounds of Warsash Maritime Academy for over 10 years. It was a wonderful place to work and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. It really was a pleasure going to work and being able to look after the wildlife too. I'm proud of what I achieved there, in the time that I had. |

Steph and Andy's Garden |
Alex wanted to open up the garden and try to make as much use of the space that she had. She wanted a mediterranean feel without using spiky plants because of her young children. We were on a really tight budget, so I recycled as much as I could, extended the patio and put in a lawn whilst trying to keep it interesting. I'm happy with how it turned out. |
I was asked to design this garden so that it could be used by someone in a wheelchair. I was asked to put in a lawn, water feature and some raised beds, so that they could grow some vegetables. I put in a water system, a shed for the lawn mower, and tried to hide the worst of the garage with a screen. Again, the budget was very tight for the size and design of the garden, and I had to re-use the paving, but it turned out pretty good. |
Annie's Garden |
For this garden, I was asked to level the lawn, tidy up the existing decking, and try and gain some privacy. Again this was completed on a tight budget and was done during winter months, so frozen ground, snow and sub zero temperatures proved a struggle for me. These pictures were taken early March, so some plants are yet to emerge and establish. |
