Jim's Garden |
For this garden, Jim asked for a low maintenance garden in which he could relax and enjoy a beer or two! We decided on keeping the existing deck and add a new shed. I put up some screening for privacy, and added another deck and some seats with mirrored fronts. That's pretty much it really. I planted it up and my daughter helped me with all the painting. The garden was done just before the spring, so although planted, most were dormant so cannot be seen in the pictures. Cheers Jim! |
Hamble Retreat |
Nick and Jackie built their house about six years ago on just under two acres of land. The architect and builders did a fine job fitting it in the grounds amongst the mature trees and surroundings. My job over the years, has been to landscape, plant, maintain and try to bind everything together. This was a tough challenge, very old poor woodland soil to heavy thick clay, with no middle ground. Added to that, coastal winds, Japanese knotweed, deep shade, resident badger, foxes and visiting hungry deer. It's been a great job, and the gardens are starting to naturalise and self seed. I have really enjoyed working on this one and Nick and Jackie have been great by giving me the freedom to get on with it. |
